Location: Westmead, NSW (Darug Land)

The project established a preschool within an aged care facility. This project followed a series of refurbishment projects that provided Constructive Dialogue with a clear understanding of the pedagogy and educational model followed by Uniting, building on a Reggio Emilia and other child-focused learning models. The work involved substantial consultation and prioritised:
- access to kitchens in a manner that facilitated children’s involvement in cooking
- a central atelier (craft studio) available to all students
- free flow out to covered decks and gardens
- a plywood resources wall available to children that runs through all rooms
- flexible learning area
- opportunities for children to retreat to quiet areas
